HELLO SUMMER!

Spring Quarter is finally done and over with!  This quarter really kept me busy and stressed so it finally feels go to be free again! No more long hours of studying and writing papers...at least not for another 2 weeks. I have summer school on the 26th...but until then...I'm going to try to soak up the sun without burning!

I LOVE THE SUMMER!

Last day of spring break...

Tomorrow I'm going back to school.  This spring break is probably the shortest spring break I have ever had in the history of my whole life.  It sucks!  I barely had time to unwind and let my brain recuperate from being overworked.  I tried making the most out of my break.  Friday was my first official full day of spring break.  I spent most the morning sleeping in and then Leejay and I decided to drive to San Francisco to watch USF's PCN.  We went there to support our good friend, Jon Reyes who was the co-scriptwriter.  The drive to San Francisco took about 3.5 hours.  Since we left at around 3:30pm on a Friday, we got stuck in rush hour traffic.  Not to mention it was raining.  We were lucky we made it to the show safe and on time.  After the  PCN, we waited for Jon to finish his cast meeting and we went to a nearby Thai restarant.  The food was great!  And not to mention, the Thai tea was just what I needed to keep me awake and prepare for the drive back home.  We left the restaurant around 12:45am and headed back home. We made it home at around 2:30am.

The next day, I got up at about 8:30am to prepare for another trip to San Francisco.  Dan, Allan, and Kat wanted to make it a shopping day at SF so they came to pick me up at 9:30am..had breakfast at Starbucks and headed straight to SF.  The funniest thing happened when we got to SF.  Allan was driving and we were stopped at a traffic light in the middle of Market Street where I saw a homeless man bent over in front of a mailbox on the sidewalk, facing the busy street.  I was looking at him because he looked like he was sick since he had his arm laid across his stomach and he was bent over like he was about to hurl.  Once our car started moving, we got frontal glimpse of him and saw that he wasn't sick...he was taking a huge crap right there on the sidewalk!!!  It was freakin' hilarious and gross at the same time.  And yes we saw the whole thing.  His hairy balls were pointed straight at us and we could see the big, brown log literally hanging from his butt.  HAHAHA!!!  We didn't have time to take a picture...but for sure that was probably one of the most memorable moments our trip.

Finally we made it to the shopping area.  We went to Zarra's, H&M, Urban Outfitters, Guess.  I ended up buying some shirts and sunglasses at H&M and also a shirt from Urban Outfitters.  I have to say though, that I was a bit disappinted with H&M...considering I've been waiting so long just to go there.  I didn't really see anything that stood out to me that much, and the sizes seemed a bit awkward.  Luckily, I was able to find some simple cotton shirts there in time for the new Spring Quarter.  After shopping, we got hungry so we decided to go to Japantown to eat at Juban (I think that's how you spell it).  It was this Japanese restaurant inside the mall where you grill your food in front of you.  It was soooo good!  Each of us ordered what we wanted and then just shared so that we could taste a bit of everything.  I ordered the ribeye, Allan had the filet mignon, Dan had the scallops, and Kat had the garlic steak. It was such a sastisfying meal!  I definitely plan on going back there again.  After our late lunch, we were ready for dessert so we roamed around the mall for a bit and found this really cool ice cream parlor where they make their cones out of crunch crepes instead of waffles.  I ordered the vanilla ice-cream with mixed fruits (strawberry, banana, kiwi) and whipped cream wrapped in the crepe of course.  Oh man...it was yummy!  I don't know why I never thought of that idea before.  By the time I finished my dessert I was stuffed.  After walking around the mall a bit more, we decided to drive to Half Moon Bay to get a glimpse of the beach right before the sunset.  It was beautiful there.  And considering how I love the water and the ocean so much...it was refreshing to be surrounded by beautiful scenery and just to get away from the city for awhile.  The only bad thing was that it was freezing cold when we got there.  The wind was blowing hard and the air was cold since the sun was slowly sinking.  I couldn't even dip my feet in the water and walk along the shore because it was just too cold.  We did get some nice picture though.  We didn't stay too long.  I just hope I can go back there in the summer where I can hang around the beach for awhile without having numb fingers and toes.  After that, we decided to drive back to Sacramento.

We went to a lounge in downtown Sacramento called Icon.  It was my first time going there and I loved it.  It was the perfect place to just hang out with a bunch of friends.  The setting was pretty intimate, there was a nice bar area, dining area, and hang out area.  The food was pretty good and there was no cover charge.  So we spent some time hanging out there for awhile.  I sipped on my Mojito and just had a nice conversation with friends. It was a great way to end the night.  I got home around 1:30am.

So now I feel like I'm still catching up on sleep from the weekend.  The whole sleeping late, and getting up early thing gets to you after awhile.  The weather outside still sucks!  I'm just waiting for the sun to come out already.  Oh well...I'm just glad I was able to make something of my short break.  I'll probably spend the last day of spring break at home, being lazy since I don't get to do that when I'm in school.  I might even try to finish up the song I've been working on.  But yeah...that was pretty much my spring break in a nutshell.  Back to school tomorrow....

It's about 12:30am...I'm wide-awake and procrastinating finishing up the last few paragraphs of my paper due on Tuesday.  Once I finish this paper...I'll have one more paper to go and then a final to study for and then next thing I'll know...it'll be Spring break!  This weekend has been pretty eventful.  I spent most of the morning shopping for Jon Reyes' birthday present.  And then around 3pm Pops, Leah, and I made it to Amber and Alan's house for their bridal shower!  We had so much fun!  Thanks to the hardwork of Amber, Thea, and Lauren we spent the first part of the party snacking on cheese wontons, chocolate/banana crepes, spinach dip with pita chips, chocolate strawberries, and so much more!!! They were all so yummy!  We played all kinds of games at the party.  My favorites were getting dressed in a bridal gown made of toilet paper (clean ones of course) and the scavenger hunt!  After the bridal shower, we attempted to go to Jon's suprise birthday dinner, but it didn't work out too well.  We left the bridal shower a bit later than expected, we stopped by the store real quick for a gift bag, and we ended up going to the wrong Chinese restaurant.  It turns out, my dad got his facts wrong and got confused.  But by the time we got to the "wrong restaurant" we figured it would be too late to drive over to Freeport where the "right restaurant" was.  And by that time, it was already about 8pm and the dinner was suppose to be at 6pm.  I knew we had missed the surprise.  Aside from that, we were expecting my grandma to come by the house.  My grandma eventually got lazy and decided to just stop by next time.  So we went home, cooked up a quick meal of seafood penne pasta and just relaxed on the beloved couch for the rest of the night.  I was too lazy to study and I just felt too tired to do anything but sit on the couch and watch Leah revamp my myspace page.  As I was getting ready to go to bed at around 1:30am, I heard a knock on my window.  Of course, it was Jon.  So I was able to give him his birthday present and we ended up talking and catching up till almost 4am!  It was refreshing to get back in touch with such a good friend though.  I feel like we've kind of lost touch because of our busy schedules and because he goes to school in San Francisco now.  But...nevertheless, it was worth staying up late to reconnect.  And luckily, Jon liked my gifts!

So now it's Sunday.  We skipped church today since Leah and I ended up sleeping in.  I was pretty tired.  Pops woke me up at around 11pm.  Since Pops has been wanting to go to Fuji's sushi buffet for so long, we decided to drive to Davis, stand in line for over an hour, and get stuffed beyond our limits on SUSHI!  Yummm!!!  I ate so much, I had trouble walking to my car...literally. hahaha.  So we came home at around 3pm and I decided to start on my paper.  And here I am, hours later, still on the computer.  I'm so close to completing my paper and yet I don't think I can look at it anymore.  I'm going to have to sleep this one off  so that tomorrow I can type my last few paragraphs and finish editing.  Sigh...the life of a student...

Tired...Stressed...Peeved....

I've been sitting in front of this computer all day.  Finals week is here.  I have a final on Friday and then my last one next Thursday.  In between, all that I have 4 papers to turn in for 2 other classes.  Yeah, I know I still have a lot of time but I'm trying to get things done early.  I feel tired.  The stress is beginning to kick in.  To top it off, my computer decided to act up today.  I finished one of my 4 papers today...I felt great about it....I thought it was one of the best papers I had written in awhile...my jump drive is inserted...I hit save...everything should be fine right?  WRONG!  Stupid me...I forgot to save it onto the C drive as well.  For some reason, after I reopened my file....the first half of my paper was encrypted.  GONE!  Typed in nothing but jibberish.  All I had to work off of was the last half.  Leejay and my Pops tried so hard to recover the file...but there was no hope.  I guess they saw how distressed I was.  I was seriously about to let the tears start flowing, but I was so mad that I think the heat radiating from my head just evaporated the tears because the tears never came.  I just laid on the couch and hoped that I would miraculously see my words reappear on the screen.  That was just wishful thinking.  Luckily, I was able to remember some of what I wrote....so I ended up rewriting the first half of my paper.  It's a lot harder to write a paper backwards...going from the end and trying to come up with a beginning.  I finished typing it up just 5 minutes ago and now I'm just venting.  My work is not quite as good as the original...but this will do for now.  If there's one thing I got out of this though, it's that I shouldn't rely so much on my jump drive.  (Note to self:  next time save document to computer hard drive, jump drive, and e-mail a copy to self.)   Sigh.  I can't wait till Spring Break.

On a happier note...thanks for fixing my page, Leah!
